A Brief History & My Thoughts

In 1979 I was shopping for a new, bigger bike that the wife and I could take some longer trips on. During a trip to Columbus Ohio to pick up a Troy Built tiller for my Father, I saw this beautiful silver Harley-Davidson setting in the show room window.

When I went inside to inquire about the bike, I was told it was $5100. I had just recently purchased a new full-sized Dodge pick-up truck for $4800. I thought to myself, “who pays more for a motorbike than a full-size pick-up truck?”

A few day later at the local Honda dealer, I purchased this 1979 CBX brand spanking new for $4000. I had owned several Harley-Davidson bikes previously, but I’ve never owned one since!

I’m still working on this content… more to come!
